1 C. sourdough starter
1 1/2 C. warm water
1 t. diastatic malt powder
2 t. salt
1 T. sugar
2 t. instant yeast
and enough flour for the right dough
proof 1 1/2 to 2 hours
make loaves and proof 1 hour
bake @ 425...

One thing that I do and like is egg rolls spread with a cream cheese/chinese hot chili sauce, fresh crab and any or all the following, bok choy, ginger. That chili sauce is hot so care must be taken. Anyway of course you deep fry these about 3 minutes.
I eat soup every day for most my life. I thought I was the only one. In making soup and in all cooking there is no end to what you can do. I hate to be a stuck in the mud but chicken noodle is my favorite. Homemade bread goes well with homemade soup.
Beings its your first time growing them maybe there not to big. Cut into one of them and see how they are. And don't be scared to try the nubbily yellow crook neck either. Roy
What I use in my stir frys is black bean garlic sauce. Its made with fermented black beans and garlc. It don't smell to great but is great in stir frys. Also I use the fresh chinese noodles that you can get at a wholesale house. Hope this helps.

Some of my best bread recipes came from the King Arthur flour site. They have all been good. One recipe that I use for years I found there.
Here is a proof box I built. It works pretty good, the only thing I may move the light (heat) on the top in the middle as now the bread is warmer in the back as in the front. The light is hooked up to a reostat so I can contol the temp. Also it has a 60 watt bulb. Winter will be the real test...
I made my own proof box out of wood. I use a light for heat hooked up to a reostat so I can regulate the heat. Its my own invention and it works.
I have most the "stuff" I want.
I've peeled them and stired in oil and seasoning. Darn I don't remember what seasonings. There buggers to peel. Anyway and roasting them in the oven and they are just great. I do the same thing with carrots and use chinese 5 spice and they are really good also.
