A couple of mornings ago when my 6 year old was having a cuddle with me in bed before getting up for school, put her hand on my face and said 'Mum, I like watching you sleep, you smile in your sleep' - made me smile even more!
Remove all the spare meat
Use the bones with some celery, onion, carrot, salt, pepper to make stock
Use to meat and/or stock to make together with some additions:
soup
curry
pie
casserole
pasties
the possibilities are endless!
Slowish on a medium heat for me - lightly mix eggs with splash of milk and black pepper, as they're just about done I mix in a dollop of creme fraiche and some chopped chives and serve on a slice of crusty rustic loaf toasted - yum!
Perfect ingredients for a beef stew, I also would leave the cream out. The only other thing I would add is a tablespoon of flour when the meat is browned if you'd like a thicker sauce
Thats kids for you! I know I certainly didn't appreciate my mum's meals until I was older. All those meals I used to moan about (stew, braised steak & onions, casseroles etc) I now beg her to make for me and love them!
