    meat pies It's my day off so I'm cooking of course! I'm making pastys with salad & a fruit salad for dessert... i was shopping today & saw the first strawberries that smelled & looked "real" since the end of last summer. Looking forward to trying them out!:chef:

    Remove garlic smell in jar lid?

    I know how NOT to do this- the dishwasher. It took me a week & a whole box of baking soda, half a bottle of vinegar & many drops of essential oil of orange to get the stink out! I ended up throwing the lid & jar away in the end. Wish i had read this first! :)

    The latin & Asian markets are a great bet for cheaper produce! Those are also good places for becoming more adventurous in cooking/eating.

    I'm really creeped out by raw poultry/bacteria issues so i always wash tongs/tools after touching any raw parts-the exception to this is soups/stews, in which case the tool is going inside boiling liquid...maybe i should wash up when cooking these too?:angel:
