    Need spices and flavouring help!

How about dehydration, assuming you will have a safe drinking water supply. Dehydrated will reduce the weight/bulk of the items that have a fairly large water content. The bread could be tortillas, pita or any flat bread. You could make a stew or eat as is; it just won't be a blended drink or...

    Diabetes

Was on vacation and this has been a busy place. Kadesma is right, Moms are supposed to worry. She's also right about teens and their habits. In addition, so many things can upset the balance. Congrats on the A1C level silvercuff. The cholesterol thing apparently goes with diabetes, at...

    Heat Wave anyone?

Sorry, meant Philly is 90 miles east of me, but my brain is FRIED is it so stinkin' hot. Still waiting for the rain, but the sun is out so it sdoesn't look good, but heck it is 10:30 am and it's only 90 degrees outside.

    Help! Seasoned Salt Accident

As an aside, if you're doubling a recipe like a casserole, don't double the salt. I did that one Thanksgiving. Luckily, I tasted it before I baked it. I had to do what Andy M. suggested and make a single batch with no salt and combine with the too salty batch.

I'm about 90 miles east of Philadelphia and it is hot here. I work in a deli part time and we are incredibly busy with the prepared foods.

    Pancake batter

I suspect that it will get thick overnight and yuo'll have to thin it with milk to get the right consistency and your pancakes might not rise as high as usual. You could mix all the dry ingredients and in a separate bowl mix the wet ones and combine in the morning, or just make them tonight and...

    Cookbooks You Actually Cook From

True all the way around. One thing I've noticed is that there are often several submissions of similar recipes so my advice would be to look at all of them and compare. If one seems to be missing something that all the others have, that would not be the one to use. A tip I read somewhere--If...

    Worst TV Commercials?

Let's see ---Orbit gum, Tide to Go, any commercial where the guy shouts at you, all commercial so loud that I have to mute it, bugs crawlling across the screen. Those come to mind now. I use the commercials to conduct other necessary business and try not to pay attention to them.
