Need ideas for mac and cheese dinner

Boy, after spending the day thinking about this and about which ingredients to scoop up for the event, I discovered there are about as many recipes on the internet as there are drops of water in the sea. There's even a whole website devoted to a different macaroni and cheese recipe every day...

Need ideas for mac and cheese dinner

Unfortunately, I need to avoid macaroni and cheese in a box because the person I'm cooking for has celiac disease. The gluten-free pasta is quite good and will hold up well to baking. But thanks for the filling ideas!

Need ideas for mac and cheese dinner

Hi, all. I'm searching the internet high and low for a delicious macaroni and cheese recipe (casserole style) that I can serve with a nice vegetable side or maybe a salad. 1. Do you have any macaroni and cheese recipes that you have encountered or made personally that you believe to be the...

Marinating for more than 24 hours

Hey, guys. I recently saw a recipe for beef bourguignon that called for the meat to marinate for 48 hours... but it seems to be this would alter the texture of the meat too much to be edible. Under what circumstances, if ever, would you marinate anything (and what?) for more than 24 hours...

    Tamari for soy sauce (gluten)

Hi, everyone. My significant other cannot eat gluten products of any kind and therefore has always used tamari instead of soy sauce. Tamari is a kind of soy sauce made without wheat, and the result is darker, richer, and in my opinion significantly saltier (tasting) than koikuchi (regular) soy...

It'll be hot then, but a great time will be had. Post if you need any restaurant recommendations or off-the-path activities.

Zucchini casserole - Mother's Day Special

It's basic, but there's lots of room for tweaks and tastes. I definitely recommend it even if you're not so comfortable with the oven. The recipe also allows you to make it hotter or tamer. The eggs are a great vehicle for the heat. Let us know how it turns out!

    Sunday, May 8 - What's for Dinner?

I'm having a lousy country club buffet at 4 pm... but it's all for mom. I recommend my zucchini casserole for Mother's Day because it makes me think of eating this growing up... http://www.discusscooking.com/forums/f18/zucchini-casserole-mothers-day-special-72124.html It's a great...

Zucchini casserole - Mother's Day Special

I grew up with this recipe and love making it to this day. My mom introduced me to it, and I want to pick up the phone and call her whenever I make it. Give it a try. Ingredients: 3 medium unpeeled zucchini, ends trimmed, grated or pureed in a food processor 1-1/4 cups pancake mix...

    Not So great Tuna

You get what you pay for, especially with fish. What was wrong here? Taste fail? Texture fail?

Live from New York, it's... me!

Ha! I did know that, thanks to the Ric Burns documentary from a number of years ago... I actually work in an office where one of our conference rooms overlooks Bowling Green and another overlooks Fraunces Tavern, so I am happy to show clients who visit us what a dork I am. You must be pretty...

    Bourbon-marinated filets mignons!

Hey, everyone. I had these great bourbon-marinated filets mignons and wanted to make one for dinner tonight. Problem 1: I cannot grill because I live in a small apartment in Manhattan, and although I have a terrace, I can't have a grill out there because it's against the rules of the building...
