    When I was growing up, a long, long time ago. My granny would take a couple of graham crackers and some confectioners sugar, a few drops of milk and flavoring and you have a sandwich cookie. Quite a treat.

    I too, have excellent luck with bay leaves, and I live in Florida. It doesn't matter how old the bay leaves are. I use them in my rice, when I buy in large quantities. It is when I don't use them that I have a problem. I trust my leaves more than I do the freezer.

    ISO of Leftover Pork Loin Recipe

    I like sweet and sour pork over rice. Mix together: 2 Tbsp soy sauce 3/4 cup vinegar 3/4 cup pineapple juice, drained from chunks 3/4 cup sugar 3 tbsp corn starch Cook until thickened. Add: 2 bell peppers thinly sliced. Cook untill tender. Add pineapple chunks and pork.

    What's your favorite microplane?

    I have the Microplane with handle. I have found that, if I use it with the rolled side up and the fruit in my left hand, I don't have the mess, and it is easier to clean. It seems awkward at first, but it works for me.

    When using pyrex/oven proof baking dishes, say to bake a cake, that the temp should be reduced by 25 degrees. I read this somewhere, years ago. Never have read anything about it anywhere else.:glare:

    Another alternative is acidophilus at your local health food store. Comes in capulets. Ask a clerk about the dosage. Not cheap but fast. Something to keep on hand after a bout with antibotics.
