    Gluten-free homemade pasta

My girlfriend is Gluten intolerant so I'm looking for an idea for pasta also. I picked up a box of Quinoa made pasta shells to make mac and cheese for her and she liked that. The plan now is to grind Quinoa with a spice grinder and see if I can create some fresh pasta for her this weekend...

Ok so I think it's probably the yeast that I got. Next test will be picking up the 1 pound container of instant yeast from sams club to try. I used the microwave to let the dough rise and left it rise for about 4 hours total time, and it got a bit bigger but still not as large as his. tastes...

    ISO neophyte bread recipe

Ok so I made the french bread today that was shown in the Video, great video by the way, that was really handy. The problem that I ran into, is that the bread did not get nearly the size that he had. his bread was at least 2x the size of mine. Mine was pretty dense, it tasted good, but was...

I plan my meals according to whats on sale at the supermarkets, buy only sale items, (KingSoopers, a division of Krogers and Albersons) and for fresh veggies, fruits, I hit up a place called sunflower farmers market which sells mostly local grown produce. For meats, fish, and exotic stuff I go...

Anyone know where to purchase Elderberry?

Have you checked any Farmers market's? How about berry farms? Not sure if theres any near where you live, but you might get lucky with a google search. Not that the farms would specialize in elderberries, but they might have plants growing near their location or know other growers who have...

    New to making fresh pasta

Seven, quick question for you. When you are using the all purpose flour (or any type that is finely ground) do you sift it first? I noticed the semolina is a much coarser grind (bobs brand) than the all purpose flour I used (same kind that i make cookies with) and was much easier to knead. I...

    ISO - help w/jalapeno poppers

shocking is when you put the veggies in ice water to stop the cooking process. A bowl of water with some ice cubes works. I do mine in cold running tap water since I can't get access to ice easily here.

Beef Teriyaki Sandwiches Recipe (Slow Cooker)

Hi, I made these and they were really great. Everyone liked them a lot. If you dont have access to a crock-pot, this is how I did it to get the meat moist and tender, falling off the bone. I took a regular bread baking pan, put the meat in it the day before and marinated it with a bottle of...

ISO help with high altitude scratch pasta

Hi, first post here. I like to make my own pasta from scratch, but I live in a very high altitude area (9,000+ ft) and my old receipes seem to be coming out a bit too sticky and seem to be too thick in consistancy. I've tried reducing the amount of oil and also some of the egg from the receipe...
