    Are you a smart driver?

I did fairly badly but then I'm trying to answer a test from a different country. I can't convert feet to meters so I stuffed that one and I agree with maverick on that speed question.

    ISO "roughing it" camping tips.

My kids love to make their own 'dessert' for after dinner on camping trips. you make up a damper dough and divide it into portions (just sort of guess), you twine each portion around a stick and 'bake' it over the coals, when done you pull the bread off the stick and pour honey or syrup through...

    Boy Scouts of America

What about organising a bush dance? have a band to play, and sell refreshments on the night. Often bush dance bands know the usual people who go to these and can get word out to the 'usuals' and you go from there. Hold a raffle or two on the night and maybe an auction along with refreshments you...

Are any of you hard of hearing?

What I see in all this is one simple fact. If he was a hearing child he would be just another naughty brat who needs discipline badly but just becauase he has a hearing pro blem he is a 'poor baby'. It does not do this child any good at all for people to treat him differently or accept bad...

    Help With My Bread Please

On the subject of weighing vs. measuring the flour (I'm sure this was in another thread too), my digital scales broke on me a week or so ago and I was using my measuring cups to make bread. I had my first failures in a long time that week, it was horrible. Then when I got new scales I weighed...

    I hate ironing! Steamer?

I do the same thing with DH's work shirts and the little 'business shirts' that make up my sons uniform for school. Directly from the washer to the drier and hung up while still hot and I don't have to iron them. There isn't much I do iron..

    Economizing

I don't know about all that, I can't remember even seeing organic milk, but then I haven't looked. I do know my family could not cope with an extra $10 a week on milk just to buy organic, I think it's too important to keep the grocery bill down rather than worry about milk keeping for a month...

    Economizing

I do the same things a lot of you do. I grocery shop once a week from a list and I tend to stick to it, the list is made up from my menu list for that week so I have enough to make what we are eating. I buy 9 litres of milk on shopping day so I don't have to set foot back in the supermarket for...

    School dinners

We have canteens at our schools but they aren't subsidised in any way, they aren't expensive but are just like the usual cafe/takeaway shop I guess. They do pies and salad sandwiches and little prepacked lasagne's and that sort of thing. It's more normal in the Australian system for children to...

    Storing Pizza dough.

I figured this was the best place to ask.... I normally make pizza dough and use it straight away but we are having friends over tomorrow night and pizza is the plan, but we are also out all day tomorrow so I don't have time to make all the dough when I get home so I want to make it tonight and...

Thanks Michael, I'll have a look around when I shop tomorrow I might be able to use a tomato pasta sauce. Bit of a shame if I can't find something that is similar Shani

    Tomato Sauce: Australian vs American

I just found a recipe Ole-blue posted which looks really yummy and I have already asked her a few questions. This one I thought might be better out easy to see since I can't possibly be the only person who isn't sure. What is the Australian equivalent of an American can of tomato sauce? What...

    Baked Taco Pasta

make that two questions... Tomato sauce.. is that Tomato paste (thick) or a tomato sauce like ketchup (thin)? Wouldn't it be easier if all our countries would just standardise stuff so the cooks could understand recipes!! lol

    Pizza Toppings

I make pizza all the time, they taste better than the ones from the shops. My favourite is BBQ sauce on the base (I make my own) then add cooked chicken and some Avocado then plenty of cheese. We love our pizzas nice and chunky and filling :D The oven I put at 200C.
