    Wedding Favors Suggestions

Make wedding cake "toppers"? You can make cookies in the shape of the wedding cake toppers, bride and groom batches. I saw some ready made cookie molds on Bakeries, Cakes, Desserts but it might not be so hard to do it yourself, if you have the time.

I need a good dinner idea that can feed about 30 people

The mac and cheese idea was great-- and if you want to dress it up, try adding different kinds of cheese. It doesnt have to be boring, and everyone will eat it.

    Brunch menu ideas

Any variation on lasagna is great-- you can substitute layers of pasta with mushrooms, zuchinni, eggplant, or even tofu.

    Special Parties and Dinners

The theme of "anything you can fit in a pie shell" went over very well last thanksgiving. We had turkey pie, mashed potato pie, even cabbage pie! And of course the dessert pies.

    Another Grad party question

That's a good formula- in fact, I'm going to remember it next time I host a big party. Also, leftovers are never a bad thing, and beans save well for a few days.

Wedding reception - cooking ahead and freezing questions

If it's a matter of just a few weeks, you should be fine. Freezing really starts to affect flavor after months, not weeks. Just don't keep thawing it and re freezing.

    Wedding Reception help needed!

Could you just bake them a little on the al dente side, then let the warming the next day cook them the rest of the way?

True- you don't want to accidentally cook something she hates! I made that mistake cooking for my boss and it turned out she hated beets... oh well. Just ask her what she likes!

What should I take to a church dinner?

Beans and Rice You can do a lot of fancy things with beans and rice. They don't have to be boring or plain, and they're healthy protein too. Plus, they're cheap.

How to spice up sauce in a jar?

If fresh limes are available in your area (in Florida they grow on trees... literally) I would take some of the leaves and let them simmer in the sauce while it cooks. Don't eat them though!

    Thoughts on personal cooking classes?

Thanks for the great response, everyone! I guess I hadn't thought of asking you personal chefs directly... silly of me, on a cooking website. Thanks to everyone who offered help! I don't know if any of you are in the Tallahassee area? I've been looking through some local listings and have seen a...

    Thoughts on personal cooking classes?

Okay, what are your thoughts on personal cooking classes? The kind where a chef comes to your house and shows you and some guests how to prepare a meal. I was thinking it might be a fun way to pick up some new techniques, and my husband says he's up for it (he's a terrible cook and admits it)...
