I learned how to make Mac-N-Cheese from my Grandma about 55 years ago. I do not have a recipe though. All I do is cook the mac acccording to package directions. After draining it I put half in a glass baking dish, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, repeat with balance of macaroni and more...
I have been MIA for awhile too.
My Mom was in the hospital from Jan 6th to Feb 13. During that time she was home for two very short stays but ended up right back in the hospital. She is now home with hospice as she has decided to stop dialysis.
All of our company left Monday so now it is...
My cats love the track ball! They really go nuts when I put a little cat nip on the insert.
Their fav of all favs though is an empty Pepsi bottle with a few small rocks in it. I made it when I was trying to teach my little one to stay off of my hutch. Someone told me if I would rattle the...
I just read all of the posts and must say that the picture sure looks like a Maxi to me. That is a sweet girl face that I am seeing.
About your question about if we have had any cats adopt us:
Wiskers & Big Stuff
My mom was feeding the neighbor's cat because she felt sorry for it. The...
More or less it is renal. She is having problems with her heart, kidneys and liver. She is also diabetic. I have talked to the dietition. She has given me lists of low sodium foods (about 100 items), foods that are low-med and high in protein (about 100-150 items) and the usual diabetic...
I have been missing for awhile because my Mom is in the hospital. When she comes home she is going to be on a very restricted diet with many different factors.
Her new diet needs to be low sodium, high protien, and restricted fluid intake. In addition she is diabetic and the doctor is...
My regular store has loose ones that are labeled yams and another group that are labeled Sweet Potato. It is my understanding that the FDA requires anything that is not a real sweet potato to have "yam" on it somewhere on the label. Now I am really confused??????
Which one works better for plain baked though? I am looking for something with about the same texture as a regular white potato. I am a virgin when it comes to picking out the spuds. The only time I have purchased them was when I bought one to stick in a glass of water and sit on the window sill...
I have never fixed anything but canned yams in the traditional holiday dish. For Christmas I want to try just baking some to go with our pork roast. I would like some suggestions/help from the experts on which one to buy and cooking instructions.
I shredd the raw potato. When I cook them I use bacon grease. We do not like onions so I only use salt pepper and garlic.
Now I have a little confession. If I fix them the way I like them I only half cook them so they are still sticky (family says slime) and not browned. I usually...
I love to put a couple drops of hot mustard in my sweet & sour sauce then stir it around with a tootpick. Yum!
BTW I think it would be good on these eggrolls too.
:rofl::lol::rofl::lol::rofl::lol:
No Way would I part with it. I fought many cousins/cousin's wifes for this pan and I have it in my will that it goes to my niece!
I do think it sounds interesting and different but what I want to know is has anyone ever had it to eat? I have read the recipes and all of the work involved. I just see this as being a big greasy mess though with that duck in the middle.
I really think it is something like an Elvis sighting...
I was just reading a book that mentions Turducken which is a chicken stuffed insided of a duck stuffed inside of a turkey. I guess this is a dish from the south but I have never heard about it. Has anyone fixed it? If so how was it?
Congrats on the new kitty. I am a little partial but I think the all black ones are a little smarter than some of the others.
This is a little quote on my fridge.
"Cats bring love and joy to your life and you don't have to send them to college!"
My eye doc does it every time I have my eyes checked. Boy did I learn not to make an early morning appointment then go to work. I could not read anything on the computer for about 6 hours after the exam.
When my Dad was working Mom and I would make large grocery bags full of peanut brittle for him to take to work with him. The guys would start begging for brittle the day after Thanksgiving.
I like the fudge made with jiffy cream and buterscotch haystacks. Another one I like to make is...
I would make a Runza Casserole
Runza Casserole
2 pounds ground beef
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cans ready to bake crescent rolls
1 package (about 8 slices) Swiss cheese (I use shredded Colby)
1 head cabbage, finely shredded (I use a package of shredded from the store)
1 medium onion...
I use regular rice and tomato soup in mine. Usually I will throw an extra handful of rice in the pan just because we like the rice/soup combo.
This is one of the first things I learned to cook, by myself, from my grandmother.
