Are the cheaper instore brands as good as the commercial ones

I see it like this, INGREDIENTS, there is a much smaller gap in quality and store brands often work very well. Processed foods with protected recipes can be all over the place, sometimes worse, sometimes better. Oreos? I'll buy the name brand, I much prefer them to any store brand that I've...

Finally Solved Baked Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Connundrum

Yup, learning how to season and not overcook is the game changer! Sounds like you are on your way. There are so many spice mixtures to try that should give you a ton of variety.

    My Air Fryer Adventures

I really love using mine for roasting vegetables, and cooking frozen fries (already pre-fried so they come out great) Sometimes I bread chicken breast for chicken parm. It's a great reheater for pizza and leftover stuff that you want crispy. It's definitely a a very efficient convection oven.

    Goodbye grill?

For me, gas is the best option. I have a high deck without steps so, I'm not comfortable with having smoldering coals sitting around after cooking, especially since we tend to have strong storms in the evening here. If I had a nice concrete patio, I'd have both!

    Frying Chicken

I like that show, they have done it with other methods too, including pizza and roast turkey. They are often goofy but there is some good information to come from it. Josh's pumpkin pie recipe was the best that I've made.

What's Your Travel Bucket List Look Like?

We did our first trip since vaccination to New Orleans. New Orleans isn't quite back to normal yet, people aren't traveling in full force yet and staffing is a huge issue, so many places were only open limited hours. We still had a FANTASTIC time as we usually do together. On the way home...

Kitchen "Candy" ~ Or, Look What I Just Got!

I've had my Bosch for a few years and it's been the best that I've used. My installer pretty much echoed what your local appliance repair guy said. This thing cleans REALLY well. I don't rinse, just scrape and everything comes out very clean. I use Finish tabs, or Cascade. I also use Jet Dry...

Friday, April 30th, what are you eating?

A friend that's in town took us to Maggianos. This is the first time that we've been in a restaurant since march of last year. We're all 2 weeks post second shot, and the restaurant had the tables very well spread out, we felt pretty safe. It was so nice eating food that I didn't have to cook...

    COVID19 Vaccinations-How's It Going?

Yeah, tell that to the people of India right now. I should tell my best friend that it's ok, his mom died of a "super flu", no big deal. Sheesh!

    COVID19 Vaccinations-How's It Going?

Had my second on Thursday and other than arm soreness at the injection site, felt fine. Same for Rob. I don't usually react to the flu shot either. Friend of mine had a very mild reaction on his second shot.

Best Buns for Burgers - BBQ Dilemma

Near the Martin's potato rolls (if they sell them where you live) are some buns called "Big Marty's" they are soft but still substantial and don't sog out quickly. They are what I use when I don't make my own.

    Chemistry of Lactose Free Milk

If you went from regular paper carton milk to lactose free in the paper carton, you likely won't notice a taste difference since they are both most often ultra pasteurized. Go from jug to carton and you'll notice a slight difference.

    What is this for

I've seen something modern where it's used to break up ground meat in a pan while cooking, could be that.

    COVID19 Vaccinations-How's It Going?

It's much easier to get an appointment in a more rural town in NC. Cities kinda lean one way and rural lean completely opposite so I bet when we see who's percentage of vaccinated people is highest, it'll paint a predictable picture. These areas were also loose with mask wearing.

    COVID19 Vaccinations-How's It Going?

We have a ton of vaccination sites here but it's still super difficult to get an appointment! I see that as a good sign that a lot of people in my city are getting vaccinated! My husband got one here in town, but I had to travel an hour. I became eligible for my second shot Wednesday and was...

Cola Comparisons ~ Do You Have A Preference?

Isn't that Pepsi Max/Zero Sugar or whatever they are calling it, great for something without sugar in it? Diet soda has some a long way.

Cola Comparisons ~ Do You Have A Preference?

I'm the same way with Coke and Mexican food! I usually order water in restaurants, but in Mexican restaurants, it's gotta be coke.

Cola Comparisons ~ Do You Have A Preference?

I like coke zero, regular or cherry. My non cola is diet ginger ale, either Canada dry zero or my local Food Lion brand diet, they taste amazingly similar.
