    Silicone baking mat vs parchment paper

    I use parchment paper...I tried the silicone and it just didn't work for me. I tried cookies on a silicone mat and they stuck and crumbled to pieces when I tried to get them off. Maybe I used a cheap brand?

    Cast iron pan

    You may have to season it a few times before it becomes "non-stick". The more you cook with it, the better it gets. You will most likely need some oil until the skillet becomes well seasoned.

    Frying tomatoes, Help needed

    I slice mine thick, coat them in seasoned flour, then egg, then seasoned bread crumbs. Fry them in a cast iron skillet with olive oil, enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Yum!
