    New Wok

    I sometimes help friends who have a deli. They go thru onions by the ton! They have a manual onion slicer that is sharp (blades)but am wondering if there is an electric commercial onion slicer?

    Cook salmon inside w/out smell?

    Marinate your bacon?

    Friends tell me of a restuarant on the Oregon coast of the town Newport where the bacon is fabulous. According to the clerk the bacon is marinated in a homemade marinade that includes cayenne pepper. Any one ever marinate their bacon?

    Sauce with ham

    Any of you have a sauce you serve with ham? Not a gravy. I remember some years ago I attended a dinner and there was this lovely sauce w/ strawberries(frozen and thawed)and maybe a touch of curry? It was lovely. obviously had some corn starch.

    Electric knife/Carving board for Rib Roast?

    How or rather with what do you slice your large rib roast? Doesn't Alton Brown recommend an electric knife? I am having 9 for Christmas dinner and need a large roast and want to keep it easy. I don't have a specified slicing board either. Recommendations please. thank you.

    Candy thermometers all same size?

    My candy thermometer, the stick only, is 5.25 " long. Is that standard? I am having trouble getting a pot big enough to make candy and a therm. long enough to touch the syrup. ( I sense I am setting myself up for alllllll sorts of replies.) thanks. m

    Turkey brined and fried?

    What are you fixing for Easter dinner? a crowd? I am planning on 10-12 people and will serve a ham.
