    No I crumbled the cake and I used quite a moist cake so I didn't need to add frosting. They worked a treat :)

    Thanks everyone! Kylie it took abt 2 hours cooking time. I have 4 cake tins so I could cook 4 at once :) decorating only took abt an hour all up :)

    No occasion CWS4322 I just love to bake! I don't actually eat much of what I bake, so I give it away or take it to work for everyone to enjoy! I just love making cakes and cupcakes :) Weird I know lol

    I made a 4 layered 'Bee' cake for a girlfriend on the weekend and tonight I attempted to make a sponge... Sponge looks like it worked but I've not decorated it yet. Here is a pic of my 'Bee' cake :) I also made a pound cake and decorated it :)

    I made a pound cake with raspberry jam and chocolate buttercream! Not sliced into it yet because it's for work tomorrow, fingers crossed it tastes good :)

    I'm new to the cake decorating world and would like to start practising writing with icing. I see on YouTube there are "practise" sheets you can use... does anyone know if there is somewhere on the internet I can get them from or somewhere to buy from? Or should I just make my own? Thanks!

    Thanks everyone. I definitely think they were too old. I went out and bought a fresh packet and this time did it on the stove and they melted within seconds!! I'm so excited. Here is my first attempt :)

    My First Post and Attempt at Fondant

    Will post the recipe when I get home tonight. I didn't do different flavours for the layers cause I'm not sure what flavours would of complimented each other. Guess I have to trial and error a bit more and not be scared :)
