    Replace One Letter In A Five-Letter Word…

from the last five-letter word in the last sentence, then use it in a sentence of your own. It’s even more fun if your sentence fits in with the previous one(s), somewhere down the line, but is certainly not required. It’s pretty straight-forward, just remember to use bold text for the word...

    Today's Funny

For the newlywed couple's first Thanksgiving, the husband’s in-laws came over for dinner. His bride roasted a beautiful turkey which she brought to the table on a silver tray. With a sharp knife, the husband quickly carved it into lovely piles of thinly sliced white and dark meat. Anxious...

Wait Time For Newbies Youtube Links To Show?

Thanks for the reply, but I posted two of them Friday evening and got sort of a pop-up message that said something to the effect of there is a wait time so that they can be screened first, which happens on some other sites as well. Edited to add: I see them now. Don't know how quick they did...

I couldn't find it in the FAQs or other help topics. How long does it generally take before they appear in the thread and how many of those does it take before they show when posted?

    Let's Talk TV

For me, it's mostly older stuff, which I'll probably post at another time. Of the more recent, I've got the first 12 seasons of America's Test Kitchen on DVD (not too recent!), my favorite all-around cooking show. Any program with Guy Fieri, though I just started getting into Guy's Grocery...

    Let's Talk TV

As Groucho Marx said: "I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book".

    Let's Talk TV

Great episode form a great show which I have the whole series on DVD, before that is was VHS, preceded by Beta. I like this SNL parody of the MTM show. Julia Louis-Dreyfus's only has one line, but her impression never fails to crack me up...

What's Your Favorite Kind of Olive

Glad to be here skilletlicker. I had thoughts of letting them set in a bowl of water and changing them out several times. I've soaked salty Feta cheese in milk for five minutes or so and it works, but I'm kinda wincing at the thought of doing that to olives.

    Today's Funny

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, "My dog's cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?" "Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him. So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth. Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to put him down."...

The "what are you listening to now" thread

Ballad Of the Whale - The Yellowjackets After all is said and done, I may prefer instrumental music over vocals, and this is one of my faves, and the only place this version can be found, AFAIK. I edit the beginning and start it @:21 for playback on the iPod and in iTunes...

What's Your Favorite Kind of Olive

Kalamata, then Castelvetrano (less salty), both from Whole Food olive bar, and eat both of them as a dessert. I searched a half-dozen or so other markets for the bottled Kalamata with the lowest salt content, and the lowest I found was at Trader Joe's, but I am still searching. I tried...

    Greetings From A Newbie

I found this site a few weeks ago, registered shortly after that, but didn't hear back and never thought to look in my spam folder. I'm glad I did and am looking forward to learn some new things as well as to add anything I can to an already great forum.
