We infuse grain alcohol with lemon zest for about a week. Then strain it and add simple syrup. Stick it in the freezer and there you have it, limoncello.;)

Wild raspberry cordial is wonderful too. Fill a jar (I use a gallon sun tea jar) with unwashed berries, throw in 1 lb.superfine sugar, pour vodka over all so it covers, then let it sit for 6 -9 weeks. Then strain and jar or bottle.

Old Crow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Cinnamon Infused
- Hint of cinnamon aromatics with the bourbon
- I think the color got darker over the last 4 weeks of infusing
- Very smooth to drink on ice .. hardly any face twisting alcohol effects
- Slight hints of cinnamon overall, and the typical bourbon taste is also muted
- I could see oneself sipping on this w/o anything else very easy
- I like this alot .. but I might try more cinnamon next, only 0.5oz in this bottle.

Fascinating Idea since we are on Spring vacation over in Gargano Peninsula, Italy.

You have just sparked our attention ...

For sure, we shall look into this when we head to Market and shops tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing.
Grazie.

One of the popular things for school kids is gummy bears and vodka. They can walk around with a bag of loaded gummy bears and get their fix between classes.

Hmmm...something different to put in my candy jar that is on my desk...right now, it is filled with Rockets--something I don't eat anymore, but the DH grabs one everytime he uses my computer...

Puglia, Italy: Rose Petal Grappa

While the Vet and I had spent 11 days and 10 nights in our Condo in Puglia, Italy, we made the following Dessert Cordial Infused Alcoholic Beverage ...

ROSE PETAL GRAPPA ...

8 ounces of insecticide free red rose petals ( 24 Roses )
8 fl. oz. water
2 1/2 cups confectioner´s Icing Sugar
6 drops vanilla extract
1 tsp. coriander seeds
2 1/4 cups = 18. fl.oz. of Grappa, Italian Orujo, or Aguardiente Liquor

1. make a syrup by dissolving the sugar in water over low heat 6 minutes
2. add the petals and coriander seeds
3. simmer over low heat slowly for 5 minutes
4. cover and let cool
5. pour into a sterilized jar and add the Grappa and stir
6. seal and store in a cool dark closet or pantry for 4 weeks
7. then, the liquor shall form and be ready for filtering and sipping, the best part ...

*** can be used as a cordial with espresso, alone & chilled or over icecream !

*** I am sure rose petals can work with several cordial liquors and / or Rum, as it has a fragrant tropical light sweetness to it ...

Kind regards.
