I had some pink lilies show up this weekend.
I was just going to go out and take a pic but it started raining.
It's really a beautiful shade of pink.... I wish they'd flower all summer. :(
I'll go out later if I remember.
Jeekins those are really good pics.

Cayenne Peppers

They are great to eat along with whatever else you're having.
Most of this picking is headed for the pepper sauce jar!!

Agree!!!! I have about 20 cayennes about to ripe!!! All I have been doing with them is hanging them on a thread to make dried pepper flakes, (apart from the ones I eat!)

HOT PEPPER SAUCE
Wash and remove the pepper stems.
Sterilize the jar in a hot water bath.
Fill the jar with peppers.
Add 1 Teaspoon salt
Fill the jar with hot, white vinegar.
Place the lid on, and let it set at least 1 week before use.

Good on peas, butterbeans, all type of greens etc. Also good on fried catfish, and a little on red beans & rice is tasty.

A Beautiful Photo Exhibit

Maybe when it quits growing...thats what I've always gone by...Then if you get a big rain...they start trying to grow again, and they start splitting/cracking etc as they ripen.....Saturday night we had serious straight line winds during a line of thunderstorms coming through...it actually blew about 7 tomatoes off the plants...5 ripe ones...2 green. In the past I've had corn blown down...Talk about a mess!!!

Congrats, it's TWINS!!

I picked these yesterday, the first of the squash harvest.
Siamese summer squash!
