can this be substituted or how much chilli powder?

Of course I forgot something at the store when I went. Can this be substituted or can i put something else in there that will be the same thing (or kinda).......1/2 cup diced green chili (2 chilies)

You won't get the same heat that you would from chilies, but you could use green pepper. That's what my standard chilli recipe calls for. They'll impart a sweeter flavor than the chilies.

Hi Nicole,
I'm not sure what you're making, but if you use bell peppers as Pa. suggested, you may want to roast them over your cooktop before using them. This gives them a great smokey savory flavor.
