WOW... that is certainly outside the box. A couple of little problems.
Red Velvet is not a particulate favourite of mine, ergo never have made one - not even from a mix, LOL.
Plus, I don't really consider cheesecake a cake per se!

my ideal is to just make a plain cake and decorate it with a theme.
My grandsons were my favourite customers but I have now moved more than 8 hours away.

Spiderman, before I tackled fondant. All those little red candies around are Spiderman candies.

So the other grands' mother (where I am now) is better than I at ideas! She's great!
But holidays I can do! Thanks to you for the suggestion.

And how do I decorate it? Maybe a big round orange pumpkin? with????
Ahhh, think I got it! A bale of straw with little oranges all around?
Wha'cha think?

Beautiful cakes! You really have a gift!
What got you into baking such Beautiful cakes?

Have no idea. Just needed to do them.
My mother was fantastic and tried all sorts of crafts. Some she was great at, others - well.... but sewing, drawing, cooking, leather work, she tried everything LOL. One of my other sisters and I just had to follow along. But it took me years before I had any confidence to try most of the stuff.

So... which do you like best. The bale of hay or the large pumpkin?

Sounds great - love it - Thank you!
Bale of hay - straw is easy to do with a "hair" tip.
Little fondant pumpkins around.

Cake inside could be a loaf cake of some sort, like banana loaf, or almost any kind!

So what do you do for Labour Day?
Family? Friends? Last Bar B Que?

Sounds delicious & beautiful!
We always go to our small town for a labor day celebration. Parade, carnival & fun with family and friends.
What are your plans ?

foxy lady cake.jpg

Kathleen, this one has been on my bucket list for some time now - still have never done it.
OK, Foxy Lady - do you like this one?

LOL, not yet. For me cartoon type characters (such as the foxy lady) are easiest with fondant. Real life replications come out too amateurish for me. People don't understand I'm not an "artist" but I can copy!

Have a picture in mind?
Or a picture of a real cat that perhaps I can find one in my genre to copy?
