The opening song

Starlet Lin Miaoke mimed at Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony | The Courier-Mail
After reading this this morning I feel so sad for this poor girl behind the scene, she has a beautiful voice but because she wasn't pretty enough she missed out on what could have been the most important event in her life. I certainly hope someone recognises her talents and that she receives the accolades she deserves.

I know how you feel. It was such a sad thing. NBC showed a picture of the singer and she was adorable! Her teeth are the same as most 7 year olds. Her front teeth haven't come in all the way yet. So they hire a cute 9 year old to lipsynch! The saddest part is the 7 year old still says it was a great honor to sing!

How do you tell a 7 year old to give it up for their country.
I think she must have lost her innocence over this.
Inexcusable.

I heard it on the news. Sucked all the joy out of the Olympics for me. I sure hope we do it right it right in 2010.

I thought the singer was very cute and should have been out front. It really shows a lot of how beauty is perceived. I hope it doesn't bother her more than what she seemed. I suppose she should sing in this country where you really don't have to be good looking to sing at all.
