TRUTH !!
Twinkies were filled with banana cream when they were introduced in Chicago in 1930. The filling was changed to vanilla during WWII when there was a banana shortage. The banana flavor was marketed again in 2005, to mark the release of the King Kong remake.
 
That was fun, although my score was awful. 100 pleats in a French chef hat?! Whew! I wouldn't want the job of sewing them! It was a good move to change the Twinkie filling to vanilla. Very interesting, LT!
