the chlorine used in a swimming pools gives blond hair a greenish tinge.

it is the copper sulfate that pool keepers use to counteract the chlorine
smell that is the real enemy. since hair is negatively charged, the copper ions stick to the hair, thus the greenish tinge. to prevent this, swimmers can mix equal amounts of tomato juice and vodka, then saturate their hair in this mixture for 15 minutes. shampoo, and your blond hair is safe from the greening.
