Which is the best type of pumpkin for pumpkin pie?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have a limited time here at the office.

So can you use any type of pumpkin? I have about a half a jap pumpkin left and was trying to think of ways to use it up, but would only do a pie if I knew it was the best type to use.

You need to use the small "sugar" pumpkins or you will end up with squash pie! I've tried the others - they are just not worth all the trouble!
