This is the only recipe that I have from my paternal grandma. She died when I was 10 years old.

Grandma Esther's Ice Box Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
1 stick sweet butter
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups water
8 oz. unsweetened chocolate
pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Cream butter with sugar. Boil water with chocolate, then beat together. Add pinch of salt and vanilla. Beat in flour. Put batter in ice box for one hour. Remove and beat in 3 eggs, one at a time and baking powder. Bake for 45-50 minutes.
Frost with any good chocolate buttercream.
