Bummer!

My Pro 600 KitchenAid mixer is sick. After mixing up 2 batches of bagles and a batch of soft pretzils, the pinon gear gave way.I'll call tomorrow for the part, then fix it myself. Oh well, S^%$ happens!

I thought the Pro 600 had all metal gears. Is that not true?

I thought the Pro 600 had all metal gears. Is that not true?

I believe it's true, I will take it apart tomorrow to make sure. I did find a few metal shaving on the base of the unit. I looked for parts on the net and saw some were nylon and some metal. However, the Kitchen Aid site sells the part for over $10.00 and Whirlpool (who makes the part) sells it for under $4.00. I'll let you know for future reference, if your interested.
