Any clues since I'll have to whip this one up myself?

Thanks!

Whatcha picklin'?

My simplest form of pickling spice is to use equal parts of mustard seeds, coriander seeds and peppercorns - with 2 crumbled bay leaves. MAYbe a crushed red chili pepper.
Not a great fan of allspice, or excessive cloves, or excessive other bits, I suppose!

Hey Clive --

Thinkin' of picklin' some "bread & butter" pickles (something which baffled you a few threads over, if I recall). Still looking for T&T recipes, however (as you made very clear -- loved that post! -- just trying any ol' recipe doesn't necessarily lead to great results!).

Haven't got any experience with pickles other than the watermelon rind ones I just made for the first time -- just have a hankering after some pickles of my childhood (thank heavens I can now get ahold of several good 'regular' pickles here so no need to delve into this very deeply).

Any ideas? Have asked your help, specifically, on another thread or two, so happy to see you up and posting  ...
