I've been working on this for years...

mine always ends up like a stew or chilli..

The restaurants here serve it and Menudo as much more of a soup!

I asked a nice lady at work, and she claims it is just pork broth, spices and hominey.

But it would have to have a small amount of veggies, would'nt it?

And of course The Spices would be key!

Thanks, Eric, Austin Tx.

Eric, I don't understand what you are looking for. Yes, there are vegetables in green Posole..tomatillos, green chilis, onion, hominy. If you want it more like a soup, and less like a stew, then just use more liquid.

I make green chili stew. I put hominy in Karen's making it basically a version of Pasole. I put potato in mine. Everything is cooked the same, then split into two pots, where the last ingredients are added and the dishes finished.

Posole also has pork shoulder that braises in the stock :yum: Mine has quite a bit of vegetables and just onion, garlic, salt, pepper, bay leaf and Mexican oregano for seasonings. I love it.
