When I think of Salmon I recall years ago my mom would make a white cream sauce with lemon zest and parsley so I would suggest omitting the parsley and using fresh basil instead. Just add it at the last minute since heat kills the fresh and bright taste of basil.
In a medium saucepan place 2 tablespoons butter or margarine or the healthy type. Mix in 2 tablespoons all purpose flour. Heat on medium and stir into a paste add 1 1/2 cups scalded milk a grinding of white or black pepper, lemon zest and a bunch of basil last that has been rinsed, dried and torn. Keep pot warm over a pot of simmering water until service. You could also add a tablespoon red pimento. Best wishes/dishes!
