In honor of the day, I made a mushroom and pork stir-fry. I have to say I miss Hawaii days when we used to get together and have a New Year's party banquet. I'm mispelling it, I am sure. Gung Hee Fat Choy.
Claire, your dish sounds yummy! The New Year celebrations in San Diego pales in comparison to HI and in No. Calif. ones. Maybe one year I'll convince DH to drive up to LA.
And a belated "Happy New Year" to you.
Welcome to DiscussCooking. We have the most wonderful people here..great friends.
You are in my home town..I was born in Colorado but grew up in beautiful San Diego...it is not the same Military town that I knew..but the improvements made over the years sure do attract the tourist...LOL
Thanks, Dove! This is a great forum with some wonderful people. I felt at home right from the start.
The Military aspect of San Diego isn't as prominent as it used to be. I moved here in 1991 and it's so different now. If you haven't seen the Gaslamp District in awhile, that has really changed.
