Hello everyone I'm makeing a cheese cake and it calls for 2 1/2 pounds of cream cheese how manny packs would that be? I was thinking two and half packs? thanks for any help.
5 is what I use. But with all the other ingredients, it makes a 12" cake. That's a large cake.
Make sure your springpan is large enough, or it will overflow.

I make mine in a 10" removable bottom aluminum pan, have used as much as 3 pounds of cream cheese and have never had it overflow. My usual cheesecake takes 2 1/2 pounds. It makes a nice, tall cheesecake.
Read the label on the cream cheese you are buying to see how much it weighs. Most common is an 8-oz (1/2 pound) block - some comes in 16-oz, some in 3-oz. You need a total of 40-oz.
