Wow! Great replies. Yes, the one pictured in Amazon.com is similar to what she had and I have found. It wasn't as tall as the one posted by CraigC. The Cholent is a stew, this was a meal made up of a pot roast type meat prep, beef, and then veggies and rice. Hard boiled eggs were in there for the morning of Sabbath, and the rest of it continued to cook until afternoon meal.
It also looks similar to the one by PrincessFiona60. The meals that were described by two or three of you sound like something I would like to try. Please some instructions? Thank you so much.
I am not Jewish, but just loved the techniques that were done, and the meal was delicious, very homey...like comfort food should be.
