Yes, it's always a good show. I like seeing it on our side of the river since it's much less crowded. I wouldn't drive an hour for it, either, though unless it was a day trip for some of the other events.

Mom doesn't do crowds well, so we don't do a lot of festivals and such now. I truly needed something last year to keep my mind off of Mom's condition for a bit, and the fireworks were the best thing. I kept my cell phone on my hip on vibrate, and made sure the hospital knew my number and how to get up with me. It was her 2nd night after the surgeries for the aneurysm, and she was asleep more than she was awake and interacting with people. Even the nurses suggested I get out and go over there for a bit. I have to admit, I loved her nurses. They worried about me as much as they took care of her.
