I lived in South Jersey. My grandparents lived in North Jersey. I remember going to visit my grandparents, and passing through an area where everything looked... beige. I asked my parents about it, but they always changed the subject. Like "where babies come from," parents in New Jersey don't quite know how to explain Central Jersey.

It will ALWAYS be Pork Roll to me. As for subs and hoagies, I go both ways. In North Jersey, I order a sub, in South Jersey I order a hoagie. Either way, I like it with a Cream Soda, Wise potato chips, and like Tastycakes Butterscotch Krimpets for desert.

I’m born and live in New Jersey my whole life. It’s Taylor ham to me and that’s the way it is referred to on the breakfast boards/menus everywhere I go to eat (even on the food truck menus).

I order an Italian “hero”. Not a sub or hoagie.

I have no clue about this central jersey thing.

When I was a kid we went “down the shore” or “up the country”. Makes no sense but that’s the way it was. LOL
