Could it be the fast food pink slime stuff? Tried to put a picture on here but couldn't manage it. Just G o o g l e pink slime.

No refrigerator in the house, Pacanis.

Pink Stuff:
1 carton whipped topping
1 large carton cottage cheese
1 can crushed pineapple or fruit cocktail, drained
1 large box red jello

Mix it up...

It could be this or one of its many variations.

I must admit I'm not a fan of the "pink stuff" but it sure made its way to a lot of holiday gatherings when I was a kid.

Also popular was "green fluff"

Aha! I was thinking ambrosia or one of the Jello pink stuff things.

Do you prepare the hello with water or just mix it in dry?

This is my friend's Pink Stuff
1 cup sour cream
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
1 sm. can pineapple tidbits or crushed, drained
3 oz box strawberry-banana Jell-O
1 large (8 oz) Cool Whip
Mix Cool Whip, sour cream & dry Jell-O well. Fold in other ingredients & refrigerate. For her family of 4 kids she adds this note: I double the recipe.

There are many versions, and no, you just stir in the powdered stuff. Tastes best if you let it sit a while so the jello dissolves, though. It's a great dessert for diabetics, because you can use sugarless jello and fruit and lowfat cottage cheese, if you wish. They make a sugar free Cool Whip, but it doesn't have that much anyway. One of our guests (a diabetic, who gave me the recipe) really likes Pink Stuff!

Stuff could come in all colors, really. Green would be nice, or orange!

I phoned my brother. His xmas treat was basic crab cheese spread. It's sometimes available, sometimes not. It's pinkish orange, delicious with sesame crackers. This spread therefore qualifies. The pink stuff.
