My kids loved hot food in a wide mouth thermos. However, they disliked having to hang on to the thermos after eating. They liked being unencumbered, throwing away 100% disposable lunches. They also hated bringing home the thermos and rinsing it out. I insisted that they at least rinse it...
I love scones but I find them way overpriced at the store AND the one time I tried to bake them, they came out terrible. good luck. Better yet, you have a tried and true recipe that you can depend on and you don't need any luck.
I love my rice cooker, too. It makes it so easy and always comes out right.
Brown rice for fried rice? Is that was most Chinese restaurants use? I know it's brown after cooking, but I always thought it was the same "sticky" white rice w/ soy and browned.
But anyway - brown rice for fried...
Now she tells me.
Earlier, I shared my frustration trying to melt white chocolate chips.
I went into Party Plus to get some things and noticed some candy supplies. I bought a bag of chocolate disks and a bag of white choc disks. I shared my earlier problem with the SA and she said all you...
In my house you could have a couple if you weren't going out anywhere soon.
I've never had rum balls with chocolate in them. I like both, so this sounds very tempting.
I've been meaning to find a good recipe and make some of these! Wonderful. Do you think it would come out well using crunchy PB? What about adding some peanuts? What type would work best? (Probably not honey dry roasted) Would you add the nuts to the dough or just press a few into each...
A neighbor of mine says it works great, but one should blanch the sliced squash first. I over did the brief steam/boil last year and wound up with mushy yuk that we tossed out. Good luck.
We're having leftovers from takeout after arriving home yesterday.
I love getting Ideas about all the wonderful things other folks are "whipping up", but I am so glad that my family doesn't read these posts - I'd have an upraising on my hands!
The strawberries did great. I didn't plant anything else this year as we were out of town. I'm going to test my theory about things growing into November, and will be putting some things into the ground this weekend. We'll see how it goes.
I always make sandwiches on pita bread for my family. A slice of Wonder bread doesn't stand a chance against a Harry Potter book in a backpack. I like PB& J, but my kids prefers ham with mustard. I avoid mayo, but if they clamor for tuna or something, I make sure they eat those first. Dad...
My GF grill does a wonderful job of grilling salmon, which is a lot sturdier fillet. If you're inclined to try yous, I'd recommend loading it up so as to spread the weight across more fish surface area.
Good luck. Looking forward to hearing how this goes for you.
I made jam for the first time this year using some of our bumper strawbery crop. It was easy using the Sure-Gel instructions. The instructions did say to use your best fruit and not the over ripes.
