    Honeycomb - SeaFoam

Huh. I had never heard of this stuff! I'm going to make some. Does anyone know if it will ship well? I know someone who would loves candy and is a few states over. Think it will keep if I wrap in plastic wrap, put it in a tin, and send it out the day after making?

If I remember to, yep. Did you want a recipe for that or were you just asking out of curiosity? :)

    Crock pot cooking

Hmmm. That's interesting. I was just debating whether or not to ask for a crockpot for Christmas. If I do get one, I'll have to see if anything tastes odd to me.

    Cooking Culture Shock

Going back to the whole culture shock topic, I moved from NYC to suburban Florida. And we don't drive. I miss being able to hop a train for good Indian food then changing my mind and walking a little further for sushi. Or being able to grab a gyro and eat in Central Park. Where I live now I...

It's Monday 11-19, what's on your dinner table?

Tonight's dinner was actually a free for all: the adults had chicken and potato salad, the kids made sandwiches, and my grandparents had root veggies with beans. Everyone cooked what they wanted.

    If not da boid....

Sometimes I make a pork shoulder for Thanksgiving and a turkey for Christmas (usually it's the other way around in this family). It doesn't really matter; if it involves food and family, it's a day to be thankful even if it's not the third Thursday of November. :)

    So I made the soup,

Did anything change from the previous pots you made? A different pot? A different stove? Was the soup scorched at the bottom whatsoever? Did the texture change? What exactly did you do when you reheated it? I am so curious.

    Jessica's Sancocho

Well, this is the first recipe I post here so if it's unclear please let me know. Also I tend to eyeball this recipe now; I tried my best to test this but if you think this is too bland (or too spicy) please let me know so I can recheck my recipe. Sancocho is a delicious stew that it seems...

    Hola!

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I'm already loving it here. :) Yeah, I cook about two or three times a day. My brother goes to school, my grandparents are in their 80's and my mom works so I'm the "housewife" I don't mind most days. Cooking is my absolute passion though. Nothing excited me...

Staple recipes that you have memorized

I use a cookbook or recipe five times a year at most so I've memorized most of my recipes. All of them I know the Spanish name for and not so much the English ones so bear with me :) Some of them are: Bistec encebollada (steak panfried with onions) Pollo guisado (stewed chicken?) Carne guisada...

    Hola!

*waves* I'm new here and that little message on top of the screen kept telling me I should say hello so here I am. :) I'm a 21 year old who spends most of the day in the kitchen cooking for my family (two grandparents, a brother, my mother, and seven animals). I'm hispanic (Puerto Rican and...
