    Freezing Cheese Balls

I made a cheese ball for a party tomorrow night and found out the event has been cancelled. I have another party next Tuesday night (5 more days). Can I freeze the cheese ball? I used cream cheese and grated pepperoni cheddar cheese and plan to roll the ball in french fried onions just before...

    ISO a canning question

I canned some tomatoes and okra yesterday. Used quart jars. Jars were hot, tomatoes and okra were hot. Left 1 inch headspace. Made sure all the bubbles were out. When I took them out of the pressure canner and put them on a rack, some of the jars oozed a bit, but they all sealed. Why does...

    Brownies from a cake mix?

Has anyone tried making brownies using a cake mix? I tried a white cake mix and just added 3 eggs and 3/4 cup of oil and stirred in raspberry chocolate chunks. I used a 9 x 13 pan which was lined with waxed paper. The result was very good, but not quite brownie consistency. Any suggestions?

    Cooking in a pressure canner.

DIL asked me if she could cook several chickens in her pressure canner. This is an All American canner and is big. She wants to make space in her freezer by freezing cooked chicken meat instead of the whole birds. Has anyone used their canner for straight cooking?

    Muffin tin liners

Does anyone know where you can find paper liners for the large (Texas) muffin tins. I can find plenty of the regular size and also the mini size. I live in a rural area (Walmart is about an hour away and I couldn't find any there), so perhaps there is a website you can point me to. Thanks.

    "Basketball Cake"

I want to make a basketball shaped cake for my Homemakers group. If I make a perfectly round one (two layers made in pyrex bowls), how can I prevent it from rolling around on the plate - or 'relaxing' into a mess. My alternative is to make half of a basketball. Has anyone tried this? Any...
