    Favorite Dessert?

I remember being younger, around ten, and me my mother and my sister took our yearly trip down to Daytona Beach. My grandparents had a habit of taking us out every night of the week. This one night we went out to a fairly busy seafood joint. I remember getting the mud pie, and it being the best...

What's going on with our American diet?

I guess there are alot of theories on why this is happening. I think it has to do alot with laziness. America has (in general) become a very lazy country. Of course the horrible food is not helping either. People dont want to cook big meals anymore, they want to get home and eat. It weird...

    Cooking show suggestions?

Read if you can. You can always go back and read it again if you missed something. A good place to start would be the book, On Food and Cooking by Harold Mcgee. If you would rather watch tv, then id say just watch and find out what you like.

The Metric System in the USA

The simple fact of the matter is that the metric system is much more easy to learn as opposed to the imperial system. I dont know for the life of me how many feet are in a mile. But I know the prefix method, and i know that it applies to every measurement I have had to use so far.

Anyone want any Magic Bullet recipes?

I would honestly just spend the extra buck on a decent chefs knife and a standard food processor. They will last a **** of a lot longer. Products like the magic bullet are usually not made very well at all.

    Why a Dutch Oven?

I don't use mine a whole lot. But when I do its usually for a beef stew. I know that there also pretty good for making broths if your to lazy to do it the old fashioned way. I usually throw in a turkey or chicken carcass after its been carved with some water and mire poix. Great after...

What should I serve with seared swordfish?

    Searing necessary?

I would have to agree with GB. Low quality meats are usually used in dishes that take a long time to cook, because the meat dries out and there is no significant differance between using high quality and low quality meats.

    ISO Bacon Advice

A few mornings ago I was having some bacon with my breakfast and noticed it tasted a little off. It reminded me of a few other times when Ive had bacon and noticed it to taste kind... well... unmellowed and very sharp (not physically sharp, just prominently untasty). First of all I want to make sure that I understand the situation completely. Are they banning absolutley all sources of trans fat products in certain states of the United States? Secondly, I would like to say that a ban on all trans fat foods would be a step in the wrong direction. I think...
