    Tea Time

Something else that is good to try is adding about 1/4 teaspoon matcha to your favorite tea when brewing. It really deepens the flavor. And of course if you have never tried Japanese teas your really missing out.

    Does tea go stale?

Tea not only goes stale but it expires and can make you sick. From being picked/processed its usally two years max for consumability if stored well. If its powder tea its usally one year since being ground. If you go beyond that not only will your tea be flavorless and have no nutritional...

    Tea Time

I recommend loose leaf tea. You have never really tasted good tea till you start tasting loose leaf tea. Its a whole diffrent experiance, and remember there is a whole world of tea out there that dont live on your supermarket stores shelf.

    Simple Iced Tea.

I make cold tea very often. I think this could be solved by the quality of tea as well. I often brew loose leaf tea and store it in a pitcher, the tea will not get cloudy for days (in fact I have never seen it get cloudy) and it tastes nice and fresh even a day or two later. This may also be...

    Drying Herbs?

Also make sure where you hang them they wont gather dust or have any insect visitors. It really ruins some nice dried herbs when you see spider webs all over them. A dehidrator can also work well for drying herbs if you happen to have one. It will make sure to keep them clean and reduce the...

    Ricing potatoes

Another thing I have found about ricers (for mashing purposes at least) is that they are much more time consuming than a old fashioned masher or even a fork. On a side note I only suggest a fork if your doing 4 or less potatos at a time. And lumps are delicious :chef:

Do you own a electric kettle/hot water dispenser?

Hello everyone, I have owned a Zojirushi hot water dispenser for years and just got another a couple of days back. I love the thing and was thinking of carrying them at my store as well. I just am wondering how many people own a electric kettle or something similar?

Do you put milk in your tea?

I orginally started drinking tea with Japanese teas, and the tradition is to not put anything in your tea. Especially since many (not all) Japanese teas tend to be delicate (also the tradition comes from Shintoism, but thats another story). Anyways I find if you have really high quality teas...

    Panang Curry: Fish Sauce?

Asian Markets can be great that way, if you live close to a "clean" one. Unfortunetly I usally find myself by chance not living within a reasonable distance from any "clean" ones. I suggest if you really know what your looking for, online can be great for these types of ingredients. Also...

Japanese fast food chain launches whale burgers

The few people who have tasted it say its kind of a cross between chicken and fish and not to bad. However my mother in law remebers back in post-war Japan when the only meat most people could afford was whale meat. From her discription it is very fatty tasteing and rubbery texture. She says...
