    Help Needed for Baked Cauliflower

It was firm but not hard, but not soft to the point of mushy. The breading on the pan I baked for 30 minutes was too crispy for my liking. Other than needing seasoning, the second pan had better texture. As someone mentioned, you could par boil the cauliflower to softened it a bit.

    Help Needed for Baked Cauliflower

I used the egg and breadcrumbs combined with parmesan cheese. Turned out good but I think I could have added more seasoning to the crumb mixture. It was just lightly breaded. In the past I have used frozen in the microwave but hubby had it baked somewhere and wanted me to try it. The recipe...

    Help Needed for Baked Cauliflower

Hi! I've been missing for a while but i know this is where to come for cooking advice. I want to make baked breaded cauliflower florets. Some recipes say to coat with oil then into the bread crumbs and some say to coat in beaten egg then into the crumbs. Which will work the best, the oil...

    Returning

I've been MIA and started reading the forum today. It's good to see so many of the same members are still here posting. I've been well, just getting older and I don't cook much anymore. But I intend to stick around!

2 very close versions of Carpathian Cabbage

That's what's nice about this recipe, you can make a smaller amount and it's a lot less work than rolling the cabbage rolls. When I do that, I end up with a lot to share.

    Metal Pie Plates

One more, Andy. I use aluminum because my mother always did. I have glass that DH brought from marriage #1. I use the glass for cream refrigerated pies. I bake my pies on the bottom rack to avoid undercooked crusts..

    Newly Developed Aversion to Meat

I had a ground beef dish for dinner tonight, similar to Hamburger Helper but homemade. It was delicious! So maybe I just had to be really hungry. Actually, we did have an earthquake here a few years ago, but no, that was not when it started. Eggs are my favorite food. If I develop an...

    Sea Breeze Salad

Can I serve this from the mold, or do I have to dump it out on a plate. That never worked for me. Always fell apart and half of it stayed in the mold.

    Newly Developed Aversion to Meat

This is not about cooking, but about eating. I have been a foodie all my life, love trying new foods, very few dislikes. Recently things that I've always loved are not tasting good to me, especially meat, of all kinds. This is not a political thing, or a sensitivity to the poor animals. It...

    The Sick Room

On Nov 27, my husband slipped on ice at the gas station and broke his hip. The next day he had surgery to repair the hip. The next morning he woke up with chest pains. They did tests including a catheterization and found that he had blocked arteries that were not stentable. He needed opn...

Left over turkey dressing for breakfast

I would really like these waffles, but unfortunately, my diabetes does not allow me to eat much of it, and all the leftover stuffing goes out the door with my guests. So this is something I can just dream about. Otherwise, I would be making stuffing at least once a week all year round.

Ways to keep hard boiled egg white EVEN

I am so glad to hear this works! I don't think I have ever had this problem, but I don't make deviled eggs very often so having a thin white on the egg would not really be something I would notice. It's in my mouth and gone before I can notice it.

What is your weather like right now?

I am amazed that this thread was started in 2005. We are at 30 right now with an expected high of 31. We had an inch or so of snow overnight after it poured down rain all day yesterday, so I imagine it's pretty icy out there right now.

    The Sick Room

Taxlady, have you tried taking Turmeric with Pepperine? Last year I started having very bad foot pain making it very difficult to walk. I started taking Turmeric and in about 2 months the pain cleared up. It was gone for several months and I stopped taking the Turmeric. Then in March of...

    Thanksgiving 2018

Someone finally posted the Widgets Stuffing. Apparently it's a low carb thing. Widgets Stuffing 3/4 cup almond flour 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped pork rinds (approx. 1/2 oz.) 1 tablespoon rubbed sage 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon baking powder 1 lb. bulk sausage 6...

    Great Tuna Casserole Needed

My mother always put cauliflower in her Tuna Casserole, but also used noodles. My family loves it that way, and I also add peas and carrots. If you google "tuna casserole with potatoes" you will get a long list. You can look through them and see if any sound like what your mother made. I...

    Thanksgiving 2018

Janet, I had to google the Big Easy to see how you are cooking your turkeys. One at a time? Or do you have 2 Big Easys? I always buy 2 turkeys, the smallest I can get, which this year are 13 pounders. I can fit both in my oven, they are done quicker than a huge one, and I get more dark...
