So this is my first attempt at baking muffins. They came out pretty good but I think I used too much baking soda. Apparently I was only supposed to use 1 tsp of baking soda but I used 2 tablespoons. It definitely cut down the sweetness. The muffins are moist enough and still taste good. But...
LOL Sorry, didn't mean to keep you in suspense. Yes, they actually tasted great. So nice and moist inside. Definitely a keeper. I have baking soda now so later I'm going to bake another batch and see how they turn out.
I felt like making pumpkin cookies. This is my first attempt. It smells great. We don't havr any baking powder or soda though, so I'm not sure it came out exactly the way I wanted.
My first ever attempt at baking a pie. It's a pumpkin pie. I don't think it looks bad for a first effort. And I have to say it tastes really good. Not too sweet and the pumpkin is so deliciously moist. I've definitely got the baking bug now!
I feel the same about mince pies. My mum made the best mince pies I've ever tasted! She's been gone for over 20 years now but never come across anything that's even remotely like her mince pies! She also made a great rhubarb pie.
I love house flipping shows like Love It Or List It and Property Brothers. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan and I also love Big Bang Theory and Red Dwarf. I'm going to start watching baking shows. Now the cooler weather is coming I want to learn to bake pies and cakes.
I'm happy to say there's a Trader Joe's opening practically walking distance from my home in two days so I'm looking forward to contributing to this thread in the future. I love that store!
