Sure it would if you could just let someone cook for you til you feel rested..Pain meds and hurting can kill anyones appetite..I've had it happen to me just by doing PD and having such a full feeling from all the fluids, well, Imagine 1500 cc in you and then try to eat..I get about 3 bites down and I'm finished..Of course now on hemo again, I'm getting hollared at for being to thin..Yeesh..So, want me to cook ya some ribs and rice?;)

That would be wonderful kades, the rice and salad, anyway!:) At this point I would love for someone to cook for me; however DH drives for a living and he is usually never around when it is time to make supper. Our border does sometimes get himself something to help out, but I don't want to see him living off canned soup and ravioli forever! I would love to some times just through something in the crockpot in the morning but neither are stew fans.

BTW, it sounds like you have enough on your plate!

I had a big lunch. Thawed out pressure cooker roast and potatoes from a couple weeks ago.
Dinner will be wings. Nice and simple. Fry 'em, Q 'em eat 'em. And maybe some potato wedges..... :pig: And carrots. Gotta eat healthy

Asparagus sauteed in butter & garlic, w lime juice
Sweet potato Gnocci w butter sage sauce
Macadamia & white chocolate cookies
I wanted to go eat dinner at Amy's...but she's not answering the door :ermm:

Actually, I'm making this ---> Cornish Hens with Lemon and Herbs and more delicious recipes, smart cooking tips, and video demonstrations on marthastewart.com

with one of our favorite side dishes ---> Orzo Risotto Recipe at Epicurious.com
and some type of carrot dish - either carrot/butternut soup, or carrots in dill ---> http://www.discusscooking.com/forums/showpost.php?p=26908&postcount=16

and probably more chocolate chip cookies like I made yesterday (they're already all gone!)

We had beef panang and pad thai, DW cooked again as I haven't really cooked much since the surgery. She keeps trying to involve me but usually by early evening I am too sore and tired to be of much help.

Right now, just enjoy your meals..When the time is right, your body will tell you..I had surgery in Jan and it took me a while, but now I am enjoying my new kitchen and the foods I'm bringing to the table..You will to..Don't rush it, it will come to you..
kades,

I agree with Kades. In the times I do feel up to going into the kitchen these days I appreciate it much more than the times when I push myself through the pain. I am sure your DW is happy to cook for you and see you get stronger.

Mum had a very late specialist appointment (by doctors standards that is!) in the city so I took her to that last night and we didn't leave there until 7:15pm, so decided that we would call in to a restaurant/cafe for dinner. After a comedy of errors that wasn't really very comedic at all (!), we ended up at my closest Chinese which I don't usually go to. Last night, the guy had his two young daughters serving as well as a trainee. The trainee had no idea on how to serve a table - he arrived at our table during the entrees (with the food at our mouths) and just stood there holding the food over our heads waiting for me to clear the table for him!! This was after mum had choked over her spring roll for a good five minutes too I might add! Then he takes off without even clearing the table, leaving one of the daughters to do it for him. We had sesame chicken, king prawn chow mein and a small fried rice with Chinese tea. Not really a hard order, even if rather Westernised. The chow mein was really tasty - until I hit the bottom and then found a taste that wasn't overly pleasant and remains unidentified but at least not the prawns. The sesame chicken however was dry and relied on the flavour and moisture coming from sickly sweet S&S sauce that accompanied it. Mum suggested I take it home to give to the cats but the chicken was so thin, I wasn't sure that they would recognise it as food!!

(This was not first choice. We were going to a motel restaurant that was on the way home that I had a discount voucher to and had quite tasty food in a neat environment, even if service had been slow. Got there and the place reeked of beer and yobs. It was awful. Written off now despite the voucher.)

Hopefully, Hamburgers with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce in them and some fried Parmesan zucchini.
