Never managed to get the mixer but attempted the buns anyway and failed Very new to baking and put the yeast into milk that was too hot! End result was tasty buns but they didn't rise at all. Back to the drawing board I guess..

Buttermilk biscuits

I am making buttermilk biscuits which I do almost every other Sunday, but today I am substituting butter flavored Crisco with real butter. I will tell you how they turnout

Thanks, guys, I actually do just use a basic cheesecake recipe I have tweaked over the years and add flavours, just have never used espresso before (though I do in my signature mocha creme brulee). I will certainly check out those links, Merstar, thanks! I would love to see Maida's recipe, thanks. I have tried a lot of her techniques such as polka dot cheesecake.
