and 6 with feta and fresh dill

Doing some recipe testing today. Red velvet cake recipe that I'm making into cupcakes. Strawberry filling that will go into vanilla cupcakes, and a buttercream.

I have lots of people to taste test today!

Here's what I've been up to today.

First is the strawberry filled. I used the filling recipe from the Wilton website and it came out well. Iced with Swiss Meringue buttercream

The second is red velvet. I used the same buttercream, but beat in some cream cheese.

Today I'm making something probably tired and old to a lot of people but dear to my heart. Today I will be baking my Grandmother's Red Velvet Cake. That which there is not another like on the face of the planet. She always baked this cake for my Birthday every year as soon as we discovered it - until the day she died, & every acknowledged holiday I would beg her to make it. It was one of her many specialties. Of coarse now it's one of my specialties since she made sure I knew her every step & techniques knowing how I loved it.
