Some are hard and some are soft. Bartlett (I think) are the soft ones. Those are the green ones. Bosc pears are brown and they are the hard ones. Or is it the other way around. I can never remember. Someone help! I am having a senior moment. But whichever ones are in your market, and they are hard, then you want the other ones. Ask the produce manager if they wil be getting in the other ones. Different times of the year for each one to be harvested. I love pears.
I love most fresh fruit. Peaches with the juices running down my arms. When I worked the 4-H fair in Washington, I would wait for the peach truck to come in. They were still warm from the sun and had just been picked. I would take about four of them, find a corner and eat my fill. then I had to wash off all the jucies from my arms. I would have licked them if possible.
