POPPY SEED DRESSING

1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
2 teaspoons Salt
2/3 cup White Vinegar
3 TBSP Grated Onion and Juice
2 cups Canola Oil
3 TBSP Poppy Seeds

Mix Sugar,Mustard, Salt and Vinegar; Add grated Onion and Juice
(grate onion on small side of grater). Using a mixer, slowly add oil, beating
constantly and continue to beat until thick. When it is thick as you want,
add the Poppy Seeds.aand beat a few minutes more.Keep in the refrigerator.
I sometimes just whip it all up in the blender on lazy days. This is so good over
fresh fruit. I love to make a mixture of watermelon and cantalope balls, fresh
strawberries, Kiwi, and Bananas. I let everyone add their own amounts. It is
great on salads to me as well.

One of my absolute favorite dressings. And I love to serve it on a spinach salad that has fruit added to it.

This is my all time favorite salad dressing and I love it with just lettuce and tomatoes.

Thank you so much for sharing your receipe.

Yep, one of my favs too. I make a seafood-type pasta salad and top it with this. And a spinach salad! YUM - Don't ask me why but I prefer the red version for a spinach salad. I SAID don't ask!

I recently tried store-bought Poppy seed dressing and really love it, but I'm glad I came across this recipe because homemade is usually so much better.

Thanks for sharing

This is a wonderful dressing and is even better than the store dressing that costs $3/bottle. I cut the oil back a good bit. Another use is to make it and use celery seeds. Very good also.
