I found a recipe on allrecipes.com to make pastry cream because I wanted to finish some milk I have that will expire soon. We don't usually drink fresh milk at home because we prefer soy milk. So, if I buy milk for baking, the rest may end up going to waste...
So, I really like the pastry cream that I made, and I want to make some more. But I have used up all the milk. Can I substitute instant milk for regular milk? We keep powder milk at home because I use it to make bread.

- 6 egg yolks
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 pinch salt
