Im following a recipe that calls for bread crumbs that contains romano cheese in it.

Problem is, I forgot to check and see if I had all the ingredients prior to starting the recipe, and of course i dont .

So, im now in the process of making my own bread crumbs ( its crappy outside , early in the morning, and not worth the effort to go to the store just for bread crumbs).

So, back to my question, anyone have any idea what the ratio might be for romano cheese in bread crumbs ???

thanks,

larry

One recipe I have calls for a 1 cup cheese to 4 cup crumbs but I like it a bit more cheesy and do a 1:3. I measured at first but now just kind of eyeball it.

Of course it all depends on the recipe but 10% to 15% of the bread crumb amount should be more than enough. The Italian Style breadcrumbs contain some Romano cheese. Can't imagine it's more than that.
