My last 3 dogs were from Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. .

I find a pup on the site, talk to the pound or foster home, fill out the application and go pick the new one up. I've been very lucky that I've immediately fallen completely in love with the dogs I pick out when our eyes meet for the first time. I'm lucky that they love us immediately, too.

The point of this is, I can't walk through a humane society with all the cages. I just can't do it so they bring the dog into the waiting room for me.

I'm hoping that next time the pups live closer to me. The last two were 2 hr drives, both ways. But it was worth it!

Flipping through Petfinder, you'll see the dog who you know will fit right in with the household. You'll just know it.

Please spay and neuter your pets. The Animal Rescue Site
