When I was a kid we were given a school project to make musical instruments including stuff that was reclaimed. My reclaimed thing was the spindle bit between stair and bannister...not sure what that is called.... and I bought some wood and made a sound box and used the strings from my violyn (never liked it much!) and bought some cello strings and made a "harp". I still remember it and loved the project. Most people band rubber band guitars with rulers and margerine tubs, so I guess I got a little carried away, but I loved it!
